Maria O'Connor is a professional solo harpist and musician, living in Hope Valley, RI. She has been playing and performing for over 15 years, in venues throughout Rhode Island and New England. Her repertoire includes traditional, sacred and a variety of other influences. Her elegant performances are perfect for any setting, and Maria performs often at weddings & private functions, notably at the distinguished Breakers and Rosecliff mansions in Newport, RI.
A believer in the healing power of the harp for any age, Maria is a long-time resident performer for Hasbro Children Hospital, as well as frequenting the nearby Miriam and Bradley hospitals. Additionally, she is experienced in hospice music therapy, and nursing home music programs.

“Maria O’Connor has been part of our Performance Arts Program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital for over 8 years. Maria and her Harp always brightens the days of patients and their families. Staff eagerly awaits her visit and will often provide her with a list of patients to see. Maria brings much needed smiles to the faces of the young patients she encounters on her musical journey. In addition , Maria’s music provides a welcome diversion from stress and anxiety, helps to create a more humanizing environment and brings a sense of normalcy for patients undergoing treatment.
